Environmental Investigation and Remediation Services
Hurricane Industries staff members have extensive experience in providing site investigation and remedial services. We have worked under Voluntary Cleanup Programs (VCP), Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) programs and regulations. Dependent upon the regulatory drivers relevant for your site we can provide Preliminary Assessment/Site Investigation services (PA/SI) RCRA Facility Assessments (RFA), Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Studies (RI/FS), RCRA Facility Investigations (RFI), Corrective Measures Studies (CMS), Record of Decision (ROD), Statement of Basis (SoB), Remedial Design and Actions (RD/RA), Corrective Measures Implementation (CMI), permit assistance, and site closure.
Our team of experts has direct experience with a wide range of contaminants and environmental conditions including:
• Chlorinated solvent plumes in soil and groundwater;
• Metal contamination in soil and groundwater;
• Uranium mine and mill tailings;

Abandoned Mine Lands Assessment and Closure
Hurricane Industries staff has provided Abandoned Mine Lands (AML) assessment and closure services for a variety of customers including the US Army, US National Parks Service, the US Forest Service, the Office of Surface Mines, and the Bureau of Land Management. We have experience throughout the United States and have provided services in a wide variety of geographic locations and varying degrees of access both above and below ground, including extremely remote and difficult-access wilderness areas and wearing self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), when required. Closure techniques applied to mines have included:
• Bat gates and Cupolas;
• Polyurethane Foam (PUF) closures;
• Back fills and Culverts;
• Fencing;
• Cable nets and Grating;
• Site restoration.
Specialized Training Programs
Hurricane Industries provides environmental training services, specifically running training programs to assist environmental managers in streamlining the remediation process. By developing a clear and concise Conceptual Site Model (CSM) using clearly defined Data Quality Objectives (DQOs), the remedial investigation and action phases can be focused to prevent excess time and expense researching extraneous details of a site.
